FISHING

The River Tay is famous for salmon fishing and the local area offers a wealth of other salmon, sea trout and brown trout and trout fisheries.

Coarse fishing for grayling, pike perch and roach is also a feature of this anglers paradise.

Bells Cherrybank Centre (Perth) - national heather collection, Pride of perth exhibition, coffee and whisky shop.

Branklyn Gardens (Perth) - a National Trust garden with many rare and unusual plants.

GOLF

In the heart of Perthshire there are a vast collection of exciting golf courses for all abilities. Nearly each town and village having a local course, with many set amidst spectacular scenery it may be difficult to keep your eye on the ball.

For those looking for Championship courses St Andrews and Carnoustie are within one hours drive from Perth while Gleneagles is 12 miles from Perth

In Perth the King James VI golf course is located on an island on the River Tay the only other golf course in such a location is in Perth - Australia !!

The Perthshire Green Card is an 18 hole ticket which gives access to 13 superb courses five rounds for £ 82.00 or three rounds for £ 50.00. Simply buy a book of vouchers, book tee times in advance and hand over one voucher to starter before play commences. Valid April to October inclusive restrictions may apply. Perthshire offers many forest, woodland and country garden walks to suit all ages and abilities. Visit :-

Allean Forest - 7 miles west of Pitlochry, magnificent views from marked paths.

Birks of Aberfeldy - a narrow path climbs to a bridge directly above the Falls of Moness giving a spectacular views into the gorge.

Craigvinean Gaelic for 'crag of goats' - 1 mile west of Dunkeld superb views over the Hermitage and Dunkeld.

Falls of Bruar - near Blair Atholl, In memory of Robert Burns the Duke of Atholl created a wild garden planting the river banks and creating pathways and bridges. Take care with children as pathways can be slippery.

Faskally Forest - north of Perth, paths round the small Loch Dunmore.

The Hermitage - north of Dunkeld, waterfalls, rapids, swirling pools, romantic follies, nature trails, wildlife its all here.

Killiecrankie - The pass of killiecrankie offers walksThe pass of Killiecrankie through densely wooded gorge an opportunity to spot for wildlife. A visitors centre is run by the National Trust for Scotland.

Kinnoul Hill Woodland Park - miles of paths and nature trails panoramic views from those who make it to the summit.

Lady Mary's Walk Crieff - a quiet walk beside river Earn through established woods.

Quarrymill Woodland Park - just outside perth on the A93, this park has many wheelchair accessible facilities.

Queen's View - spectacular views across Loch Tummel visitor centre tells story of people and forests in highland Perthshire.

Rumbling Bridge - near Kinross is a pleasant short walk where the rive Devon tumbles through a rocky gorge passing under an unusual double bridge.

The Tetley Tea Trail - commences at port Moak and offers walkers stunning views of Loch Leven.

Blairgowrie - offers gentle strolls along the river Ericht.
